Breaking Barriers wins Supporting Young People Award

Service supporting children affected by imprisonment wins at ICB Expo 2026

Breaking Barriers wins and Mpower runner up at ICB Norfolk and Suffolk Health and Care Expo Awards

It was an award-winning day for Ormiston Families on July 3 as two of our services were in the spotlight at the ICB Norfolk and Suffolk Health and Care Expo.

On a day of celebrating health and care services across the two counties, Breaking Barriers was selected for the Supporting Young People Award, while Mpower was named runner up in the Treatment to Prevention Award.

Breaking Barriers was chosen for its impactful work with children who have had a close family member sent to prison.

The award citation read:

“The judges felt that this small organisation was a very worthy winner. By delivering transformational support to highly vulnerable young people whose family members are within the criminal justice system they are helping to build resilience and enable them to take back control and break the cycle of offending.”
